This piece has been created on Adobe Photoshop using photographs I have taken which have been digitally manipulated. I have tried to create a feeling of movement in this piece and have photographed the fan from the holder's perspective, as I wanted to give a different view of a Chinese cultural object. The image contains the colours and an object which immediately come to mind when I think of China and Chinese culture. I particularly like the contrast between the bold lines of the fan and the background, and the delicate painting on the fan. The lettering is from another part of the fan, and I not only chose to put it there because the text is Chinese, but also because I feel that the forms are a beautiful art in themselves.
